Leadgate Community History Club

About Us

Leadgate Community History Club started in 2018 as an offshoot of Leadgate Task Force. The aim of the club was to celebrate the history of the village and its people from its foundation to the present day. The site, and its sister Facebook Page. At this time the Facebook page has over 1200 followers.

Our aim in creating the site was to carry on the traditions of those who came before us and to be an all inclusive club with no subscriptions or selling of heritage items. Membership is totally free and our content is intended to be informative and educational. The club is run by volunteers and is purely non-profit.

THE ECCLESIASTICAL PARISH OF LEADGATE

Throughout our history pages we have included what was the ecclesiastical parish of Leadgate, as constituted in 1863, and included the village and township of Iveston, the hamlet of Crookhall, and part of the townships of Greencroft and Medomsley.
