Leadgate Community History Club

Started in 2018 the Leadgate Community History Club is dedicated to the memory of the late Bill Stockdale (Mr Leadgate) the former President and Secretary of the original Leadgate History Society.

 

Membership is FREE and open to all.

 

Talks will be arranged on various topics please see the page for Event Details.

 

Any funds raised, after expenses for room hire, will be used to support local community and local history projects including:

 

  • Supporting the Trustees of the Old Eden Miners Hall
  • Supporting the fundraising group looking to bring back the Eden Colliery Banner to the Durham Miners Gala
  • Working with other parties to preserve, archive and promote local history in many forms from Exhibitions, Open Days, Talks, Oral History recordings
